Frequently Asked Questions
Is the keyboard included?
No. This is a modding kit only. It is designed exclusively for the Wooting 80 HE — the keyboard itself is not included, and the kit is not compatible with other keyboards.
Which plate should I choose?
Choose by the sound and feel you want: POM for the softest typing feel and deep thocks; FR4 for the bounciest typing feel and medium-pitched thocks / marbley sound; Carbon Fibre for the snappiest typing feel and high-pitched clacks (without metallic resonance); PEI for a medium-pitched profile that sits between FR4 and POM; Brass for a heavy, very stiff feel with a pronounced, resonant sound; Aluminum for a rigid, versatile feel with a moderate sound profile.
Do metal plates sound different from plastic / composite plates?
Yes. Metal plates (Brass and Aluminum) can introduce a hint of resonance — and Brass in particular has a more pronounced, ringing quality. Carbon Fibre is stiff but does not produce this metallic resonance. If you are sensitive to ringing / resonance in your keyboard sound, Carbon Fibre, PEI, FR4 or POM may be a better fit.
What are the colorway options?
FR4 is available in Black Gold or White Gold, and Carbon Fibre is available in Black or Silver. Each colorway of a given plate is the same material with identical typing characteristics — pick whichever matches the aesthetic of your build.
Are my stabilizers compatible?
All plates are compatible with PCB-mounted screw-in stabilizers. Clip-in stabilizers are not supported.
Do I have to install every item in the kit?
The IXPE switch foam is optional (note: it could affect performance). The other items are designed to work together — plate, foams, PET film, 2× PET tape, gasket foam, and screws — but you can mix & match to reach your preferred sound and feel.
Is this compatible with the Wooting 60HE V2?
No. This kit is revamped for the 80% layout and is designed exclusively for the Wooting 80 HE. If you have a Wooting 60HE V2, please use our dedicated 60HE V2 modding kit.
Is there a build guide?

Our return policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have passed since you received, we cannot offer a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Partial Refunds
There are certain situations where only partial refunds may be granted, including but not limited to:
Items showing obvious signs of use
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
Any item returned more than 30 days after delivery
In these cases, we reserve the right to issue a partial refund, depending on the condition of the returned item.
Shipping
You will be responsible for any and all shipping costs of returning an item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on your shipping location, the time it takes for an exchanged product to be delivered may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, please consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we can't guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed and the credit will be automatically applied to the original method of payment within 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you have not received a refund yet, please check your bank account. Contact your credit card company, as it may take time before your refund is officially processed and posted.
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Discounted items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you receive a damaged or defective product you have 72 hours upon arrival of the product to contact us regarding the defective unit at contact@torontokeyboardman.com.

To be honest, I was nervous ordering it, as I didn't fully understand how to implement it (the Wooting 80HE is my first modded keyboard). I paired this kit with the KBDfans GT-80 and some Gateron Jade Pros (bought here as well) to make the most marbley, deep sound. Genuinely my dream keyboard. Fast shipping, and their online guide was fantastic! You can use as much or as little of the kit. Highly recommend getting one of these if you want more versatility with your keyboard.
