The Whisper is designed for hot-swap HE and EC mechanical keyboards that use the standard MX footprint with a bottom-magnet sensor layout. It also accepts all MX-compatible keycaps and MX-style screw-in or plate-mount stabilizers.

Electro-Capacitive (EC) compatibility: The Whisper also works on EC PCBs designed for a conical-spring layout. Because EC keyboards vary widely in spring height and capacitance tuning, please confirm your specific model with us before ordering.
Important — check your keyboard first. The XVX Whisper uses a bottom-magnet design. Keyboards with side-magnet sensor layouts (for example, Drunkdeer) are not compatible. Hall Effect keyboards from different manufacturers also calibrate their firmware for specific magnetic flux curves, which may affect Rapid Trigger accuracy on unverified models. If you are unsure whether your keyboard uses a bottom-magnet HE PCB or a conical-spring EC PCB, please message us with your keyboard model before ordering.

Installing & Caring for Your Switches
Install only on a hot-swap HE or EC PCB that accepts the MX footprint. Before installation, inspect the plastic alignment pegs for any damage, make sure the magnet is firmly seated inside the stem, and confirm the housing is undistorted. Because the Whisper combines a rubber dome with a conical spring, opening or modifying the switch is not recommended — doing so can affect magnetic flux consistency and actuation accuracy. Store unused switches in the original clamshell tray to protect magnet alignment and keep the housings dust-free.

Electro-capacitive (EC) switches detect keypresses through capacitance changes, prized for their smooth, consistent feel. The XVX Whisper works with BOTH — the first switch that can drop into either type of keyboard without modification.
Do I need a special keyboard for these switches?
Yes. These are designed for hot-swap Hall Effect (HE) keyboards (such as Wooting, Drunkdeer, Keychron Q HE, Rainy 75 Pro HE, GMMK 3 HE, Akko MOD007B HE) or electro-capacitive (EC) keyboards with a conical spring (such as Niz and certain Varmilo models). They will not work on traditional MX mechanical PCBs.
Is "adjustable actuation" the same as Rapid Trigger?
Adjustable actuation lets you set the activation point anywhere in the key travel. Rapid Trigger is a feature of HE keyboards that uses this precision to register every up/down movement instantly. The Whisper supports both, as long as your HE keyboard firmware enables them.
Are these switches pre-lubed?
Yes. The Whisper ships factory-tuned with light lubrication on the stem rails and housing for smooth travel out of the box. No additional lubing is required.
Will these fit my MX keycaps?
Yes. The Whisper uses a standard MX cross-stem, so any MX-compatible keycap set (Cherry, OEM, SA, XDA, KAT profiles) will fit. MX-style plate-mount and screw-in stabilizers also work.
How silent are these compared to normal silent switches?
The rubber dome absorbs both the up-stroke and down-stroke impact, making the Whisper significantly quieter than typical silent linear switches. Most users rate it closer to a premium topre/HHKB sound than a standard mechanical switch.
Why does the pack include 2 extra spacebar springs?
Spacebars often need stiffer springs to avoid accidental actuation on longer stabilizer bars. The 2 extra conical springs let you tune your spacebar feel without ordering a separate part.
How many switches come in a pack? Is 35 enough for my keyboard?
